Necronom
Necronom is a side-scrolling shoot'em up game which released for the Commodore Amiga in 1991. It was developed by Lunatic Software and published by Linel.
The game box of Necronom advertises its 32 levels, 300 different aliens and 10 different scenarios, as well as technical details such as being able to run at 50 frames per second and displaying 48 colors on screen.
The player's task is to maneuver their spaceship to the end of the levels to fight the boss — without crashing into enemies or obstacles. The enemies can either be hit or avoided and showcase different attack patterns: Enemies can either be completely stationary, move along pre-defined attack paths or continuously close in on the player position.
Visually, Necronom is reminiscent of games like Cybernoid: The Fighting Machine or the arcade game R-Type.
