Clown-O-Mania
Clown-O-Mania was created by Roman Bossart for the Commodore Amiga and released by Starbyte Software in 1989. The artwork was done by Roland Petermann and the original music was composed by Roman Werner.
The player's goal is to maneuver Beppo the Clown through various mazes to find the Land of Magic Crystals. To reach this mysterious land, the player must solve 82 isometric levels by collecting all the balls and diamonds scattered on the game board. The levels have different levels that can be navigated either by using a ladder or by jumping. However, both jumps and bullets for your gun need to be picked up first - which proves challenging as the pick-ups move around the level. As the game progresses, the level of difficulty and complexity increases steadily. For example: In the beginning, the player encounters no enemies; later, the enemies follow pre-defined paths; and by the end of the game, the enemies are actively pursuing Beppo. Other gameplay elements are also gradually introduced, such as one-way tiles, teleport tiles, funnels, speed-up tiles or death tiles. Players can also increase their level score by stepping over colour-changing tiles so that they are all the same colour by the end of the level.
The Atari ST version of Clown-O-Mania was ported by German developers Carsten Mohr, Matthias Krenzel and Adrian Dalecki.
