Akropolis
Akropolis is a C64 Shoot-em-up developed by Matthias Hillebrand and Tim Kleinert. Tim Kleinert created the music and art, and the programming was done by Matthias Hillebrand in 1989. They published it under the name Modern Arts, which was the name of their demoscene group at the time. Ironically, the two developers referred to their game as ‘a piece of crap’ and a ‘stone-age game’ in the title screen.
Akropolis is a horizontally scrolling shooter. Your hero avatar is a jet-pack-equipped fighter who must fight their way past numerous flying and bouncing threats of the ancient world to make their way to the heart of the Akropolis and gather the statues hidden around to win the game. Akropolis was published in Italy with the title „Ancient World“ in the C64 game collection of Formula 64, number 71.
