War Heli is a vertical scrolling shooter reminiscent of the arcade game Tiger Heli. The player controls a helicopter and has to destroy all enemy vehicles without being shot down. The game was developed for the Atari ST by Matthias Heubi and Matthias Kohler. They worked on War Heli in their spare time while they were still in school. Heubi and Kohler published the game themselves under the name "Argonica". War Heli also features an elaborate copy protection system, which resulted in the game not being cracked until many years later. Interestingly, War Heli has a mechanic that punishes the player by reducing their score to zero if they shoot civilian vehicles or ambulances.
